FIBULATOR started in the late 80s in West Oakland and continued until 1995.

With the possible exception of Thinking Fellers, Fibulator is probably the most visionary rock band in the Bay Area.     - San Francisco Bay Guardian

Wonderful caffeinated art-damaged sextet from Oakland. Two strong and beautiful female voices sing poetic lyrics in passionate harmony. Intricate and tight guitar, bass, and drums that range from Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 to the Minutemen. Excellent and varied reed work throughout. This album is full of tense rushing climaxes, soft peaceful sways, eerie jagged blasts, rapid percussion, driving fierce instrumentals, dark schizophrenia, and some of the catchiest cacophonies to fall in love by.     - KZSU Program Guide, Spring 1995

Stupid/Icky

7in
(1996, Silly Bird)

TRACK LIST:
// 01 Stupidedly
// 02 Icky Wallenberg

| OUT OF STOCK |
Fibulator's long-lost 7" record! Recorded by the band to 8-track tape at their rehearsal space, imprinted by Silly Bird Records, edition of 500.

The track "Stupidedly" was inspired by bassist Ken Holt's experience working as a photo-journalist in Bosnia during the Bosnia-Herzegovina war. It includes samples from relevant newscasts.

The instrumental track "Icky Wallenberg" was a tribute to the marriage engagement of the band's friends Rick Weldon and Anne Eickelberg. Samples from Rick's band Din Triptych were mixed with samples from Anne's band Thinking Fellers Union Local 282.

Fibulator intended to hand-make wooden boxes to package this record. As it turned out, the band broke up before the boxes were made and this record was never released.

Supermegacorporation recently rescued a box of this anthropological find from a warehouse in West Oakland.
